Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic forklift models are equipped with a pronged lift on an arm which extends over the top of the truck providing versatility and great height. The crane, or arm, is known as a telescopic boom. The boom enables the operator to maintain a high degree of control while raising the cargo to great heights. Standard forklifts aren't able to move the load away from and towards the cab of the forklift, whereas a telescopic forklift can allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is usually used in both construction and agriculture. It is better for applications where greater control and lift is required.
In situations requiring high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments referred to as forklift carton clamp attachments are better. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings that enable the operator to use uniform clamping force when picking up a cargo. It comes with a backrest that protects the cargo from damage.
A sleep sheet lift truck would normally utilize a slip sheet attachment for storing systems which don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This kind of system is useful for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A lift platform which is designed to lift personnel is referred to as a Man Basket. It attaches to the forks on the forklift and a chain or strap is utilized to attach the basket to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the employees from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are utilized for fastening the worker's safety harness.
