Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts San Jose

Use a Pneumatic Forklift
You can normally find pneumatic forklifts in warehouses and shipping operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used to transport supplies and products around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks which are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump which lifts the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by one individual.

To prevent loosing control while raising heavy loads, pallet trucks must always be operated with care. Machine should be inspected prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Check that the handle turns smoothly. The pallet must be stacked carefully to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.

On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level found on the inside of the metal loop to lower the forks and release the air in the pump. The forks could then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks should be at the center to ensure even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has completely cleared the ground. Do not lift the pallet too high or the forklift could unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and dragging it behind you. It is not safe to push the pallet in front of you because the momentum could cause it to go out of control. Take turns slowly and don't try to stop suddenly. Stop slowly, squeeze the lever, and the forks would lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
