In 1966, Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries. During that time, he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" that was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This device greatly impressed lots of customers and hence, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, because the demand for work lifts and platforms grew. Over time, when the requirements for new machines to meet many applications grew, the company made itself recognized in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into making stick booms, telehandlers, articulated booms, light towers and man-lifts.
Genie decided to acquire a partner who held the same values as a result of the economic downturn in the beginning of the 2000s, when they partnered with Terex. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers all around the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
During the first years after the sale, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand name within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, due to the name's solid reputation in the marketplace. Hence, all Genie machines continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their clients. Genie has always been continually dedicated to improving the efficiency and quality in addition to lessening wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering exceptional support. These are the very work disciplines that have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality equipment.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy equipment are emission-free, quiet machines capable of working in delicate work settings. Where the equipment needs to be driven significant distances, like within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator along with the advantages of a 48V DC machine.
As opposed to any of the various kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide more horizontal reach overall. These equipment are great for limited access places in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to provide utmost productivity. These equipment provide supreme traction and the drive speed you need in order to travel around the job area and work site.
