Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They can run using gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for many applications. There are various facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the machine has to be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must really be careful so as to prevent possible serious injuries. For instance: be certain to put on the appropriate safety equipment such as goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Make certain that you turned off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize any kind of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
